Hypnosis and Finances with Juliet Obodo

One of the many things I love about hosting this show is discovering new and fascinating ways to help you think about financial health differently, or approach your financial health differently, and today’s episode is a great example of that. Joining me today is Juliet Obodo, Master Hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner, to share her story of why she left a traditional corporate job to pursue a career in hypnotherapy and how hypnotherapy can help you overcome subconscious roadblocks you may have that would prevent you from living the life of your dreams.

Podcast Notes

  • Prior to becoming a hypnotherapist, Juliet was running two businesses: an agency and a startup funding company to help startups and small businesses get funding. She was doing well, but she was experiencing severe burnout.

  • She had been hypnotized before when she was working in corporate, and it helped her deal with breakups. She went to NLP, neurolinguistic programming, training before, which is all about using different words to shift emotions and perspectives within your clients.

  • Juliet forgot about it until she stumbled upon an ad and she joined a program that had hypnosis in it. The experience was very powerful and she wanted to offer it to her business funding clients, because money blocks were a huge issue.

  • Juliet decided to get certified in hypnosis. She was only going to do the introductory level, and she decided to continue through it and became a trainer. It took her about a year to finish, and at the end, she no longer wanted to do business funding.

  • This hypnosis is different than stage/entertainment hypnosis. The moment right before you go to sleep is the most important, because it mirrors hypnotic trance. There is no outside noise or opinions, only yours. Hypnosis is the process to get you to this point. It is communicating with your conscious mind, subconscious mind, and unconscious mind.

  • Meditation teaches you to be present and mindful, hypnosis focuses on the past and dissecting your beliefs. The purpose of hypnosis is to install positive aligned suggestions to get you to do something.

  • Juliet’s sessions have three parts. The first part is clearing your emotional connections and meanings.

  • When you are born, your brain is like clay and it forms as you age with your parents and teachers. Everything has meaning and is tacking things onto your mind. Your neuropathways slow down when you are around age seven or eight. Behavior you saw growing up sticks with you, including stress around money.

  • In these sessions, Juliet goes back and clears these subconscious memories. This is done under a light trance and the answer is coming from your conscious mind. Once you get rid of certain memories, you are no longer held back.

  • Most people that come to Juliet aren’t happy or content and it doesn’t matter what they do. You can rise above any discrimination or oppressive ideologies. You can’t control other people, but you can control how you are processing it. You just need to adjust your settings.

  • Juliet offers an intensive eight-week program that creates a whole-life transformation. After this, her clients can go to therapy or meditate. Neuropathways can be changed at any age.

  • You usually get a subconscious nudge, and booking a session shouldn’t feel like an expense but like a step in the right direction. If you don’t feel that, find another hypnotherapist that specializes in your age or place in life.

  • Juliet usually works with Millennials and Gen Z, and on the business side she usually works with startups. Juliet is trauma informed and she took special certification courses for ADD and trauma.

  • Women are given discomfort, men have to seek it. Men have a choice, where women are given it once a month and women are conditioned to accept it. When given the choice, women avoid it.

  • Juliet has more male clients now, because they aren’t used to the discomfort they are feeling. Women have to give themselves permission to do the program and what helps them is when they realize they are healing their bloodline.

  • It is important when you think about how you want your children to turn out. There is a lot that children take in from birth and they cannot process what they are receiving.

Takeaway: My biggest takeaway is that sometimes our roadblocks to success are hidden from us, and investing in uncovering those roadblocks may be exactly what you need to do to take yourself to the next level.
