Weekly Roundup
I have to give a HUGE thank you and round of applause for my hubby for stepping up and covering DIY week on the blog this week. I have been wanting to do this, and I would have been a poser if I pretended to DIY, and he is definitely not a DIY poser. On Monday, he shared some tips for starting in DIY as well as inexpensive tools you could use to get started. On Wednesday, he shared some of his favorite youtube videos that have helped him with projects around the home. On Friday, he shared his top ten DIY movies and a great recipe for DIY pizza which costs less than delivery. I hope you enjoyed his posts!! This week, I filled in again on Wednesday at Young Adult Money and shared ways that you can save money when buying a new car.
What I Enjoyed Reading this Week
- Shannon at The Heavy Purse revealed an unknown rule of personal finance and that is just because you are not financially literate, does not mean you still can't teach your kids about money.
- Matt from Mom and Dad Money asked on Budget Blonde what you should do with your kids gift money. I know a number of friends who debate this very topic, but we have always been clear on our approach.
- John from Sprout Wealth shared how you can use Game of Thrones to grow your wealth, and I had to laugh because he clearly had the show on the brain this week, because he was also on Daily Finance talking about it as well. :-)
- DC at Young Adult Money shared 3 reasons why you should finance a car instead of paying cash. And I always crack up with personal finance bloggers talk about financing and using credit (for something other than churning), they open themselves up to attack and criticism, but I believe there is a place for credit in a responsible financial plan.
- J. Money at Budgets are Sexy actually gained inspiration from one of my blogs to help people tell if they are financially sexy. And from the looks of it, he is one financially sexy guy, but as I shared on his blog, anyone who thinks budgets are sexy would naturally become financially sexy. :-)
Thank you so much for J. Money and DC for highlighting my work this week and a special thank you to the Aspiring Blogger Personal Finance Carnival for sharing my Don't Fear the Reaper post about investing fears. I am excited to tackle financial literacy next week with some wonderful people! Have a great weekend! What do you have planned this weekend? Any DIY projects? :-)
