Weekly Roundup
Weekly Roundup
This week I had financial mistakes on the mind. On Monday, I shared the importance of forgiving yourself for the bad mistakes that you make. It is a difficult task for most of us, but important for our growth and happiness. On Wednesday I shared my grocery store challenge so that you could avoid the financial mistake of overspending on your food expenses. Yesterday, I shared the top ten financial mistakes that I think people can make or at least the ones a financial planner would not like to see. This week I also had two posts on AOL about the importance of playing games at the office and not necessarily needing a finance degree to work in finance.
My Favorite Reads of the Week
- Without a doubt, my MVP for the week has to be J. Money over at Budgets are Sexy. He not only highlighted one of my posts on Rockstar Finance, but he provided a resource for looking for lost money, and I found out that I am owed $507 and FB Hubby is owed $35. Then he shared how he saved money with USAA, my insurance provider, which led to me making a phone call and saving $35 a month on my insurance.
- Mel at Broke Girl Rich shared 202 ways you can save money on your birthday. I wish she posted this 3 months ago. :-)
- John at Frugal Rules lamented about the increase in his healthcare thanks to Obamacare.
- Lauren at The Write Budget discussed the importance of keeping a positive attitude when you are working on your not so positive finances.
- DC at Young Adult Money shared a surprising story of a side hustle gone right, but also after plenty of side hustles gone wrong.
Thank you to MoMoneyMoHouses and The Heavy Purse for highlighting my posts this week!! Next week I am going on vacation with my family, and I plan to unplug for as much as my highly plugged in brain will allow. Something there will be a lot of though, is this:
