My week of writing

This week I talked about goals and roadmaps for success. On Monday, I discussed the importance of actually setting specific financial goals to keep you focused on what you want to achieve. Then on Wednesday, I talked about the need for a financial roadmap to get you to your goal this is otherwise known as a budget. Finally, on Friday I shared my top ten financial goals that anyone could be working on in case you needed some motivation. Tuesday I was over at Young Adult Money talking about money practices that ruin relationships.

What I enjoyed reading this week:

  1. Melanie at Dear Debt shared a story about meeting a reader and understanding who she blogs for, and I understand what she is saying. Sometimes it can seem like personal finance bloggers are only writing for other bloggers; however, we all have readers who never comment but learn from and appreciate what we are doing.
  2. John at Frugal Rules wrote about a recent career choice he had to make and the importance of the freedom running his own business provides him. I agree with him that I am completely ruined for a corporate job now.
  3. DC at Young Adult Money wrote about why a balanced life is overrated. I think we all struggle (kids or no kids) to find balance in our lives and achieving it is going to be different for all of us.
  4. Bre at The Weight of Debt shared 6 things she did to improve the SEO on her site. SEO is one of the things I still need lots of help with on my blog, so I really appreciated her sharing what is working.

A very big thank you to Canadian Budget Binder, Budget and the Beach, for highlighting my posts this week. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend, the sun is shining and it is beautiful here in New York, I plan to watch my son play soccer and enjoy the pool with my guys.

What do you have planned for the weekend?
