For full disclosure, my husband and I stopped "officially" celebrating Valentine's Day years ago. I just didn't like feeling "forced" to spend money on a holiday dictated by Hallmark. Instead we truly try to celebrate our love for each other all year long. If you plan to celebrate the holiday next week or want to celebrate your love any other day, here are some inexpensive ways you can express yourself.10) Make your own cards - I recently purchased a card for someone a few months ago, and I was SHOCKED at the $4.00 price tag on the card. This is like a Starbucks latte but without the caffeine benefits. Instead, you can create a card free through Smilebox or simply take some computer paper and draw your own design for the one you love.9) Play a game - I love playing games with my hubby, whether it's Tetris, Scrabble or Head's Up. We always have lots of laughs while competing against each other.8) Cook a meal together - My husband is a great cook, and I have recently tried my hand in cooking more, but I really enjoy the time the two of us share together in the kitchen while preparing a meal. This Valentine's Day, look for inspiration through Pinterest or Food Network to find something new to make.7) Make your own infused Vodka - I was actually inspired to try this when I saw a pin on Pinterest over the summer, and it was a fun experiment. You can buy cheap vodka, add some fruit and you have a "homemade" gift. If you get really crazy, you can even create your own labels.6) Find deals online - I love the website How About We for inexpensive date ideas like cheese making classes or beer seminars, but Groupon and Living Social also have some good finds under $25.5) Home made coupon book - I know these are cheesy, but seriously, if my husband created a coupon book with a few "free" massages that he intended to provide, I would LOVE it.4) What I Love About You - I actually purchased this book for my husband for Christmas, and I not only loved filling it out for him, but he loved reading what I had to write.

3) Practice yoga at home - Most of us lead hectic lives and yoga is a great way to stop and slow down and give yourself a break. Do Yoga With Me offers free yoga classes online for all practicing levels.2) Personal Playlist - When I was younger, these were known as "mix tapes," each of you could create a playlist of songs that make you think about the other person. My hubby did this for me for our wedding anniversary, and I love my anniversary playlist.1) Date night in bed - I don't know about you, but my weekday schedule is crazy and sometimes there is nothing more appealing to me than spending the evening in bed watching Netflix and eating popcorn. How do you plan to celebrate Valentine's Day? Do you have any other ideas for saving money while celebrating?
