Hi Everyone!Eric Gati from The Daily Interview and My 4 Hour Workweek recently reached out to me to and asked if I would be open to an interview about my blog and being a blogger. Here is a preview:Shannon, I’m a big fan of your site, Financially Blonde. You have a lot of great content about saving money, good looking recipes, and other interesting personal finance content. Tell us a bit about your background and journey. What gave you the idea to start this blog? Is this a full-time job for you now, or are there other projects/businesses you’re involved with?Prior to starting my company, NextGen Financial, I worked as a financial advisor for a large retail advisory firm, and I was one of ten women in an office of a little over 100. As a clear minority, I took it upon myself to bring as much femininity to the office as possible, so I always wore dresses, I carried a pink computer bag and left a pink calculator on my desk at all times. This led my peers to nickname me “The Elle Woods of Financial Services.” (Elle Woods was the primary character in the movie Legally Blonde, for those who haven’t seen it.)While at this firm, I also wanted to distribute a monthly newsletter to my clients that I would call “Financially Blonde” as a play on the Legally Blonde name. Due to compliance issues regarding client newsletters, this was not approved; however, I vowed that if I left, that I would start a blog and this would be it’s name. Thus the Financially Blonde blog was launched in late 2013.My full time job is now running my company and helping people in their 20′s and 30′s with their personal finances with the goal of getting them and keeping them financially fit. I use my blog as a way to communicate with my clients and others about financial health and how it can be achieved. Usually if I write a blog post, it was inspired by a client or my own journey to financial health and I share it in the hopes of helping others who are on the road or beginning their journey.Check out the rest of my interview here: The Daily Interview
